Jeron Wilson

Jeron Wilson (born February 1, 1977) is an American "regular"-footed (naturally rides a skateboard with the left foot at the front of the board) professional skateboarder.

Early life

Wilson was born and raised in the San Fernando Valley, California, United States (US).^[1] Wilson started skating around the age of nine when he was introduced to the sport by his cousin and was naturally talented. Jeron Wilson grew up skating with many skaters but the most notable are Weston Correa and Ethan Fowler. At that time, the trio skated for Blue Alliance Skate Shop in Chatsworth California. Although Blue Alliance was a small shop, it was well known as the team always successfully competed in the Powell Quarter Master tournaments, held at the Powell Peralta Skate Park in Goleta California. Even at the young age of 13, Jeron was known in the valley as one of the best skaters around. He was known for having incredible "pop," which is a term used to describe his ability to get the skateboard high off the ground through ollying and other various techniques. Jeron also had incredible control over his skateboard at a young age. In fact, he was one of the first skaters to master the switch 360 flip which remained one of his signature tricks throughout his career.

Professional skateboarding

Wilson met professional skateboarder, Salman Agah, who saw his potential and helped Jeron become part of the Real skateboards team. Jeron's talent was also recognized by professional skateboarder, Tim Gavin, and Wilson subsequently became a member of the Blind skateboards team. This was an incredible accomplishment because the Blind Skateboard team was known to have the best riders in the world such as Guy Mariano. Jeron made his debut on the Blind team in a Plan B video part that included a "friends" section that featured the Blind team. After the demise of World Industries, Jeron was recruited to skate for Girl Skateboards which quickly gained the reputation for being the best skateboard team in the world. With the help of Tim Gavin, Jeron obtained a shoe sponsorship with DVS Shoes (formerly the DVS Shoe Co.). Wilson had many amazing video parts for all these companies and gained the confidence of his fellow professionals and many ambitious skaters throughout the world.

Diamond

As of 2012, Wilson is no longer sponsored by DVS Shoes and is a part of owner of the Diamond skateboard/streetwear brand—founder, Nick Tershay, has stated that a Diamond shoe line will eventually be launched.
