The Lions of the East Army (Jaysh Usud al-Sharqiya) was a Syrian rebel group formed in January 2015 and was based in eastern Syria.[4] It captured American made BGM-71 TOW from ISIL in the eastern Qalamoun on 1 January 2015.[5] The group where also active in Damascus since 28 January 2015.[2] It mainly focused on defeating the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant in the eastern desert area of Syria, where it gained control over large areas in March 2015.[4]

In late November 2015, Jaysh Usud al-Sharqiya dissolved into the New Syrian Army.[6]
