Jaylen Brown (born October 24, 1996) is an American college basketball player for the California Golden Bears.

Brown attended Joseph Wheeler High School in Marietta, Georgia.[1][2][3] As a senior he helped lead his team to a victory in the Georgia AAAAAA state championship. With 0.6 seconds remaining, Brown hit two free throws to give Wheeler a 59–58 victory.[4][5]

Brown was rated as a five-star recruit and was ranked by Scout.com as the best recruit in his class.[6] Rivals.com and ESPN both ranked him second behind Ben Simmons.[7][8][9]

Brown was selected to play in the 2015 McDonald's All-American Boys Game.[10] On May 1, 2015, Brown committed to play for the Golden Bears at the University of California, Berkeley, under coach Cuonzo Martin.[11] He is listed as a small forward and is heralded as an all-round prospect due to his athleticism.[12]
