Jason J. Hogg (born August 8, 1971) is Chief Executive Officer of B2R Finance LP and Senior Lecturer of Entrepreneurship and Innovation at Cornell University’s Johnson Graduate School of Management.[1][2][3] At Cornell, Hogg teaches entrepreneurship and innovation to graduate students and is one of two faculty advisors to the Big Red Venture fund, Cornell University’s student run venture fund in Ithaca, NY.[4]

Hogg is most known for founding Revolution Money, Inc., a secure, rewards-based payment platform used for consumer transactions, which was acquired by American Express for $300 million in January 2010.[5][6] The online platform technologies now support American Express Serve, a mobile digital payment platform, as well as Bluebird Services, a payment card made popular by American Express. As part of the acquisition, Hogg joined American Express as the President of its Enterprise Growth Group.[7]

Recently, Hogg cofounded Hangit, a contextual location-based mobile advertising service that received $6.2 million in funding from Vesta Inc. in November, 2014.[8]

Contributions

Hogg is recognized as a first name inventor and for his entreprenerial leadership in the areas of “alternative payment” systems and business utilization of "Big Data".[9][10] Hogg currently holds 25 patents ranging from design to complex technology systems and has 39 additional patents pending.[11]

In 2005, Hogg authored an article describing the potential impact of centralized data repositories and targeted marketing campaigns on the pharmaceutical industry – a practice central to effective Big Data utilization across a variety of industries today.[12]

Early life

Hogg began his career as a Special Agent for the FBI.[6]

Jason Hogg's father, Russell Hogg, is the former CEO of MasterCard.[13]
