Jane Eyre is an 1997 film that appeared on the A&E Television Network, an adaptation of Charlotte Brontë's novel of the same name.

Notable for omitting the middle scenes with Mrs Reed, the Rivers' relationship to Jane, and her uncle's inheritance. But included classic lines from the novel (the piece of string, and this pure innocent woman).

Originally shown on ITV on 9 March 1997 in the UK and shown on A&E-TV on 19 October 1997 in the USA. Sometimes repeated on ITV3.
