Jamie Leigh Langley (born February 7, 1983) is Miss Alabama 2007 and a news anchor. She has toured the state as a motivational speaker, spokeswoman, advocate and performer. She participated in Miss America in January 2008.[1][2]

Biography

Jamie is a native of Wadley, located in Randolph County in east central Alabama. After graduating from Southern Union State Community College, she graduated from Jacksonville State University with a degree in Communications and a minor in Music. She was also Miss Southern Union and, later, Miss JSU.

Her past work includes television program hosting, advertising, modeling, and multiple volunteer positions.[3] She participated in Miss America in January 2008. She was named Quality of Life finalist, a community service award, and was second in the nation for the most fundraising for the Children's Miracle Network. Jamie volunteers with the American Heart Association, Children's Miracle Network, Samaritan's Purse and the American Cancer Society. Her accomplishments include judicial magistrate for the Randolph County District Court; Creator of a Girl Scout Patch program; writer and on-air talent for multiple AHA public service announcements; Model for the Atlanta Apparel Mart, Sears, and Macy's Modeling School and Agency; and three-year vocal performer at Carnegie Hall.

Competitions

Langley won the 2007 Miss Alabama Scholarship Pageant at Samford University in Homewood, Alabama.[4] Her local title as Miss Painted Rock placed her in the Miss Alabama competition.[5] Langley’s platform was cardiac care and her competition talent was vocal. She produced a charity CD to raise heart health awareness and raise funds for the American Heart Association. Langley also achieved the following in Miss Alabama preliminary competitions:
