James Orr (filmmaker)

James Orr (born 1953) is a Canadian writer, director and producer of motion pictures. Orr's screenplay credits include Three Men and a Baby, Tough Guys and Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit, whilst his director credits include Mr. Destiny and Man of the House.

Since the 1980s, Orr has been an avid wine-collector and has participated in several wine auctions.[1]

From 1997 to 1998 Orr was in a relationship with Farrah Fawcett. In October 1998, James Orr was sentenced to three years probation for assaulting Fawcett in January of that year. A Los Angeles County Superior Court judge ordered him to perform 100 hours of community service, attend a batterer's counseling program and pay $500 to a domestic violence fund. [2]

In September 2010, wine critic James Suckling announced the launch of his new video-based website featuring content taped in locations across the world, created in collaboration with James Orr.[3]

Orr has indulged his passion for cigars by writing and directing the low-budget feature "Blowing Smoke",[4] as well as making a documentary on the Fuente Family called "The Fuente Family: An American Dream", and a documentary on Cuban cigars called "Cigars: The Heart and Soul of Cuba".[5]
