James Lucas is a New Zealand screenwriter. He is best known for co-writing British short drama film The Phone Call (2013), for which he won the Academy Award for Best Live Action Short Film at the 87th Academy Awards; the win was shared with the film's director and co-writer Mat Kirkby.[1] Lucas was born in Christchurch, New Zealand before moving to London where he lived for 15 years.[2] Lucas has written a script for another film entitled Bohemian Motorcycle Club.[3]
