James Hamilton (Director of Public Prosecutions)

James Hamilton (born March 20, 1949) was the Director of Public Prosecutions at the Irish Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions,[1] from 1999 to 2011, being succeeded by Clare Loftus. During, September 2010, James Hamilton was elected President of the International Association of Prosecutors, succeeding Francois Falletti.[2] James Hamilton became Director of Public Prosecutions in 1999, succeeding Eamonn Barnes.[3] Before becoming Director of Public Prosecutions, James Hamilton was a practicing barrister and was head of the Attorney General's Office in Ireland.[3]
