Cecil James Gilbert (born 5 May 1923) is a Scottish television producer and director. He was the BBC's Head of Comedy from 1973-77. He was probably best known for his work on The Two Ronnies, Last of the Summer Wine and Open All Hours. In 2003, Gilbert appeared on the documentary special 30 Years of Last of the Summer Wine to discuss his role in helping to create the series.[1]
