Jake DeBrusk (born October 17, 1996) is a Canadian junior ice hockey player. He is currently playing for the Red Deer Rebels of the Western Hockey League (WHL). DeBrusk was drafted 14th overall by the Boston Bruins in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.[1]

Western Hockey League

DeBrusk was selected in the 7th round by the Swift Current Broncos at the 2011 WHL Bantam Draft. During the 2014–15 WHL season he was rewarded for his outstanding play when he was selected to take part in the 2015 CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game.[2] Following the 2014–15 WHL season in which he scored 81 points in 72 games with the Swift Current Broncos, DeBrusk was ranked number 19 by the NHL Central Scouting Bureau on their list of North American Skaters eligible for the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.[3] Expected to be drafted late in the first round, the Boston Bruins picked DeBrusk 14th overall.[4]

On December 26th, 2015, DeBrusk was traded from the Swift Current Broncos to the Red Deer Rebels.[5]

Personal

His father is former NHL player Louie DeBrusk.[6]
