Jacyn Heavens is the owner, founder and CEO of Epos Now, an global electronic point of sale company with offices in both the UK and USA.[1]

Early life and education

Heavens was born to Karen and Barry Heavens in James Paget Hospital in Gorleston, Norfolk, England on 7 June, 1983. He attended Thorpe St Andrew School, and continued his studies at Cawston College in Cawston, Norfolk, England.[2]

Career

After completing his formal education, Heavens worked in sales including insurance, advertising and technology. He later specialised in the telecommunications industry before moving into the hospitality industry to launch his own bar and restaurant.[3] When he launched Rocks Music Bar & Lounge, Heavens searched for an POS system that would suit his business. After researching what was available for his industry, he identified a gap in the market and began to develop his own software.[4]

Heavens started Epos Now with £85,000 of his own money.[5] Epos Now has over 200 employees throughout the UK and the US,[1] with over 12,000 businesses using the software.[6] In 2016, Epos Now was ranked by Tech Track as the UK's fastest-growing POS company, and 13th fastest growing private tech firm in the UK, with average annual growth of 156%.[6]

Heavens is also the founder and CEO of Sentinel Asset Finance, Sentinel Property Management and Blue House Investments.[7] He is frequently called upon by the national press to provide insight into the industry.[8][5]
