James Patterson Linn was an American football coach in the United States.

Coaching career

Linn was the head college football coach for the Pittsburgh Panthers located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He held that position for the 1895 season.[2] His coaching record at Pittsburgh was 1 win and 6 losses. As of the conclusion of the 2010 season, this ranks him #30 at Pittsburgh in total wins and #30 at the school in winning percentage (.143).[3] He was born in Shippensburg in 1870.[4][5] He died in Redwood, Minnesota in 1949 and was buried in Redwood Falls Cemetery.[6][7]
