Ivy League Records is a record label based in Sydney, Australia.
History
Associated with the music management company, Winterman & Goldstein, and Ivy League Music publishing, the label was invented in 1997 by Sydney band The John Reed Club - members: Cameron Emerson-Elliot (later in Youth Group), Peter Lusty, Richard Weinman and James Roden (later in The City Lights) - to release their debut 7" single. Three partners from Winterman & Goldstein, Pete Lusty (John Reed Club), Andy Kelly (Glide) and Andy Cassell (Youth Group), acquired ownership of the label in 1998 and began releasing records.
Rise to prominence
Ivy League experienced its first significant success with the Sydney band, Youth Group. Ivy League subsequently reached prominence through the label with Josh Pyke and Cloud Control; management success was experienced with The Vines, Jet and The Sleepy Jackson.
Australian artists
In addition to those mentioned, Australian artists currently signed to the label include Lanie Lane, Sparkadia, Alpine, Catcall, Deep Sea Arcade and The Mess Hall.

In March 2006, Ivy League announced that they had entered into an equity relationship with Michael Gudinski, a well-known figure in the Australian music scene.[1]
