Ivan Korsak's book Your names, Ukraine presents stories about Ukrainians who are unknown and not honored in Ukraine. An example is the story "The Knight of the Order of Busto de Libertador", about a Volyn landowner Mykhajlo Skybytskyj. In 1823, a romantic Volyn man from Sweden and England arrives in Venezuela and becomes a volunteer in the army of Simon Bolivar. In the decisive battle for independence against the Spanish colonizer soldiers of Skybytskyj, they obtain a breakthrough, then victory, and Bolivar awards him the highest military award, the Order of the Liberator Bust. He becomes a national hero upon returning to Ukraine. The governor of Kyiv, Volyn and Podolsky Guriev sends Michael into exile in Vyatka as directed by the emperor. During a second trip to the Americas, Skybytskyj makes engineering calculations for the Panama Canal.
The stories from Your names, Ukraine are based on historical events. The author's preface is worth noting: "Type in any Internet keywords such as Nobel laureate George Sharpak [and you'll get hundreds of messages in reply] the French physicist, born in Poland". The Nobelist's real name is Georgij Harpak, he was born in Dubrovitsa (Rivne region), and his father was the owner of a brick factory, who builder many houses throughout the Polissia.Kings and Prime Ministers of other countries, classical literature of large countries, outstanding scientists, and Nobel Prize winners were born in the Ukrainian land. And the people of this land, far apart on the fate of the world ("alien mother, alien Fields and Glory" – line form a song by Ivan Korsak, which entered in his CD authoring), the Ukrainian people made a very significant contribution to the achievement of world civilization.
On Korsak and his historical themes, (Shevchenko Prize winner) Vasyl Slapchuk said, "He not just adds to his creative heritage, but also strengthens another level on a ladder of spiritual perfection – the path that belongs to comprehend everyone, and therefore the nation as a whole".
Yevhen Sverstiuk, speaking of Your names, Ukraine said, "Ivan Korsak returns us facing the leaders in Ukrainian history and culture, muted or forgotten. And it is a good book.Someone can accuse that those sincere stories are focused on a national motive. However, let us recall the motivation of the world famous scientists, mathematicians Mikhail Ostrogradski, Mikhail Kravchuk, physicist Ivan Pul'uj, written and translator Nikolai Hnidich, finally Shevchenko and even Mikola Gogol. Are they stressed their nationality in an environment which would like to blot it out? Because the feeling of national esteem is an important part of human nature and person's honesty".
Shevchenko Prize winner Mykhaylo Slaboshpytsky said, "Every historical fact for Ivan Korsak is worth its weight in gold. Moreover, Ivan Korsak doesn't tremble over the Cabinet of Curiosities, which contain facts. He knows how to write and can build a whimsically story".
Vitautas IOHELA, Doctor of Historical Sciences, professor \Vilnius\: historical romance "KARŪNOS DEIMENTO PASLAPTIS" \ "Secrets of the Royal Diamond"\ of Ukrainian written Ivan Korsak is a good example of our writers and readers and, as vividly and easy to create intriguing story. The author, well knowing the history of his country, introduces readers with it telling not only the usual adventurous scheme, but knows how to present an excellent historical context.A hand of a gifted written quietly leads us through different periods of historical battles.IN this novel the reader will feel the historical events of Kyiv Rus and the Great Lithuanian Princedom, as well as Ukrainian's wish at the beginning of the twentieth century, the process of establishment of the independent state of Ukraine. So wish dear reader wonderful journey thru historic times searching of a precious stone".
