Itasca

Itasca is a word coined by Henry Schoolcraft as a name for Lake Itasca, the source of the Mississippi River. Schoolcraft coined the name from a combination of the Latin words veritas ("truth") and caput ("head").[1][2] The following places and ships have been named after the Mississippi Headwaters:
