Iswarya Menon (born Aishwarya Menon; 8 May 1992), is an Indian film actress, who acts in Tamil and Kannada and Malayalam films.[2][3]

Early life and education

Iswarya Menon's family hails from Kerala, but she was born and brought up in Erode, Tamil Nadu. She completed her higher secondary education from Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Erode in 2009.[4] She completed her B.Tech Engineering course from SRM University, Chennai in 2013.[5]

Career

Iswarya Menon was first seen in the Tamil comedy film Theeya Velai Seiyyanum Kumaru and its Telugu version Something Something.[6] She debuted as Akshara in the Kannada industry with Dasavala which was directed by M S Ramesh. She was cast opposite Prem, of Jogi fame.[7] The film released on October 11, 2013 and her performance as a mentally challenged girl was generally well received.[8][9][10][11] Oneindia however wrote "Akshara, though looks cute, doesn't have good on-screen chemistry with the lead actor. She has given poor performance as a mentally challenged girl".[12]

Iswarya's next release was Tamil film Apple Penne.[13] The film was based on a mother and daughter relationship, where Iswarya was the daughter, while Roja essayed the role of her mother.[14][15] She also acted in the Kannada horror comedy Namo Boothatma.[16][17][18]

Iswarya Menon will make her next Malayalam debut in the romance film Monsoon Mangoes co-starring Fahadh Faasil,[19] in which she portrays Rekha, a "practical and independent young woman".[20]
