Isaiah Israel Broussard (born August 22, 1994), known professionally as Israel Broussard, is an American actor, best known for portraying one of the lead roles in Sofia Coppola's crime film The Bling Ring (2013), inspired by the real robberies of Hollywood celebrities by a group of California teenagers. In 2015, He played Carson in Lifetime movie, Perfect High and Jack in H8RZ.
Life and career
Broussard was born in Gulfport, Mississippi and grew up in Saucier, Mississippi. He had smaller roles in the movies Flipped and The Chaperone, before landing the role of Marc Hall in The Bling Ring.[1] The film also starred Taissa Farmiga, Katie Chang, and Emma Watson. Broussard earned praise for his portrayal of Marc, a character inspired by the real-life Nick Prugo.[2] The Chicago Tribune called him a "performer of serious promise," along with co-star Chang,[3] while Rolling Stone's review noted that "Chang and Broussard make Rebecca and Marc the funniest-scariest pair of fame whores that you'd never want to meet."[4] Asked about her choice to cast "fresh faces" Broussard and Chang as lead roles, Coppola said: "There's sort of a naturalness, as opposed to having worked a lot, being kid actors."[5]
In 2015, it was announced that Broussard had been cast in the Lifetime original movie Perfect High with Bella Thorne playing his love interest. The movie also starred, Daniela Bobadilla and Ross Butler. The film premiered on June 27, 2015.[6] The movie "Perfect High" is about a group of friends who take prescription drugs in order to get high and this eventually leads them to heroin and addiction. Later in the year, he will star as Spice, alongside Nicholas Braun and Zoey Deutch, in the film Good Kids.[7]
In 2011, Broussard starred alongside Lily Collins and Ashley Rickards in the music video for M83, titled "Claudia Lewis".
