Iran Shenasi also spelled as "Iranshinasi" (Persian: ایران شناسی) is an academic journal of Iranian studies.[1][2] The founding editor-in-chief is Jalal Matini.[3] The journal is published in Persian (with English abstracts) and covers Iranian history, Persian culture, and Persian literature.[1][4] The majority of research libraries in the world that have a Middle Eastern or Iranian studies program are subscribers[1] and it is considered as one of the most authoritative journals on the culture of Iran and Persian literature.[1]

Iranshenasi has sometimes dedicated an entire issue to the remembrance of scholars and artists.[1] Special issues on Parviz Natel-Khanlari,[1] Zabihollah Safa,[1] Ferdowsi,[5] Nizami Ganjavi,[1] Mehrdad Bahar,[1] and Richard N. Frye[1] are examples of these issues.
