The International Film Festival of Prayag (IFFP) is a festival organised in the city of Allahabad, India,The first edition of this film festival was held between 26 and 28 February 2015. Veteran actor Om Puri.[1] was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award.[2] IFFP is organised by Hasan Haider of Z and Z Media Pvt. Ltd. New Delhi .[3]

Vision

IFFP was institutionalised with the sole objective of giving a platform to the aspiring filmmakers from the North region of the country. IFFP gives an opportunity to come closer to the world of cinema by interacting and exchanging views with iconic filmmakers.

IFFP 2015

Veteran actor Om Puri was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award by Hasan Haider who is also founder of the film festival.[4] Filmmaker Tigmanshu Dhulia[5] shared his experiences of working in the Hindi film industry during the three day festival. 2015 release Jai Jawaan Jai Kisaan was screened at the film festival on its opening day. Documentaries and short-films like Sharminda (Director: Vishal Srivastav, India), My Sin (Director: Hafizullah R Yosefi, Afghanistan), Countdown (Director: Pam Singh, India), No Woman’s Land (Director: Dr. Dev Kanya Thakur, India), Gul (Director: Gul Reyaz, India) were screened at the film festival. Around 30 films were screened over these three days which were chosen nationally and internationally by the special Jury members - Stanzin Dorjai, Amrit Gangar and Dhiraj Mishra.[6]
