International Culture Festival
The International Culture Festival (Spanish: Festival Internacional de la Cultura or just FIC) is a cultural event held annually since 1973 in Tunja, Colombia. Artists from different corners of the world, which intertwine their knowledge and their cultures into one universal feeling, through the medium of art, the best mechanism to achieve peace and brotherhood of people. Usual topics are music, theater, dance, literature, visual arts, film - audiovisual, cultural heritage and cultural exchange meetings. FIC gathers more than 2,500 artists and has more than 300,000 visits to nearly 500 events every version.
The 2012 International Culture Festival took place from 31 August – 8 September 2012.
History
The International Culture Festival has its origins in 1973, named "International Culture Week" and 40 years after became one of the major festivals of Latin America.[1]
