The program requires completion of 10 semesters, clinical practicum, and passage of the first two parts of the United States Medical Licensing Examination, before conference of the Medical Doctor degree.[9]

Accreditation

The International American University College of Medicine is chartered in Saint Lucia.[3] It has applied for accreditation from the Caribbean Accreditation Authority for Education in Medicine and other Health Professions (CAAM-HP) and was pending a decision as of July 2015.[11] In January, 2015, IAUCOM was approved by the Canadian Government and added to their designated international institutions list.[7] The university is listed in the FAIMER International Medical Education Directory (IMED) effective in 2004 with school ID #F0000976[1] and in the World Health Organization's World Directory of Medical Schools.
