Profile

The Institute of Health and Management offers accredited postgraduate courses for both domestic and international students through its campus in Parramatta, NSW. IHM commenced operations in 2012 as the Institute of Health and Management Pty Ltd, and has since then gained the status of Higher Education Provider after being approved by the Australian government's Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA). Courses at IHM are meticulously developed and delivered with a focus on excellence. IHM belongs to the Health Careers International group, a group of organisations committed to quality health education. The other two divisions of HCIG are the Institute of Health and Nursing Australia (IHNA), and EduSystems Australia.

Campuses and Courses

IHM operates from its campus in Parramatta, NSW, which is a suburb of Sydney. The campus is equipped with nursing simulation laboratories, computer and library facilities and modern classrooms. IHM’s postgraduate nursing courses cater to nurses from Australia and overseas who are looking to enhance their employability and advance their nursing careers through promotion to leadership and management positions or through specialization.

These courses include the Graduate Diploma in Nursing (GDN) with graduate certificate exit point (GCN) and the Graduate Diploma of Nursing (Paediatric Nursing), as well as the Nursing Career Advancement Program.

These short courses, primarily undertaken for the purposes of professional development and knowledge advancement, are delivered online through an interactive learning format that allows students to connect with subject matter experts, educators and peers. Some of these courses include Critical Care Nursing, Gerontological Nursing, Emergency and trauma Nursing, Pediatric Nursing, Renal Nursing, Perioperative Nursing and Orthopedic nursing.

Single unit enrollments permit students to study one or more units at a time, and receive credit toward their full course of postgraduate study which can be undertaken later. Units that can be undertaken include Professional Issues and Policies in Nursing and Specializations – GDN3987/PCPN3987, Research in Nursing, Clinical Leadership and Management in Nursing and Specializations – GDN3986, Clinical Project – GCNCP3/PCPN3983 among others

Course Delivery

IHM’s advanced learning courses are delivered online and through campus based programs. The online delivery modes allow students to successfully balance their work and study schedules whilst incorporating extensive interaction and contact between students and academic staff members.
