The Indian Institute of Management Visakhapatnam also known as IIM Vizag, is a public business school located in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, India.[1][2] It is one of the nineteen Indian Institutes of Management. The institution start's the first batch of its Post Graduate Program (PGP) in Management from August 2015.[3] The institute has started groundwork for its activities under the guidance and mentorship of IIM Bangalore, one of the top institutes of management in India and the Asia-Pacific. IIM-V to begin with, classes started at the Andhra Bank School of Business on Andhra University campus, till it moves to its own campus at Gambheeram, Vizag in about 3 years time.

Campus and location

IIM Visakhapatnam is initially functioning out of the campus of Andhra University, while the permanent campus would come up at Gambheeram on the outskirts of city. The land acquisition for the permanent campus is almost complete. The foundation stone for the new campus was laid by Union Human Resource Development Minister, Smriti Irani on 7 January 2015. The campus is slated to come up on a 400-acre area.[4]

IIM Vizag initially is offering Post Graduate Programme in Management with a batch of 60 students.

Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGPM)

The Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGPM) is a two-year, regular, full-time residential programme. Admission to the PGP course of IIM Vizag is conducted each year through the Common Admission Test (CAT). Its main objective is to develop young men and women into competent professional managers, capable of working in any sector of organized activity, proceeding leadership and achieving excellence in performance while contributing to the welfare of the larger society.Shiksha RTI reveals minimum cut-offs at IIM Visakhapatnam.[5]
