iWon
IWon.com is a free casual game site and web portal that offers the chance to win cash for charities through activities such as playing online games. Originally, IWon was highly similar to Yahoo! (at the time), but offered points (good toward daily prizes) for using their search engine and various other features, such as news and weather reports.
Among major early backers of iWon was Viacom, parent of CBS, UPN and MTV. It is now owned by Barry Diller's IAC.[1]
Social media
As of January 2011, in an attempt to reach out to users through the social medium of Facebook, iWon has launched an interactive game portal similar to the one found on their website. It offers similar games and features including a daily prize draw during its opening months.
End of an Era
The site was shut down at end of day, January 6th, 2016.[2]
