Isham Kimbell Hicks (February 20, 1881 – June 1966) was a three-term mayor of Melbourne, Florida from 1933 to 1934 and from 1942 to 1943.
He was born on February 20, 1881 in Alabama, the son of Dr. Lanmertine O. Hicks and Mary K. Hicks.[7]
Hicks went to school in Tennessee and Alabama and then interned in Jacksonville, Florida.
On August 3, 1916, he married Grace Hoag.[5]
In 1922, he moved to Melbourne.
Built the first private hospital in Melbourne with his partner, Dr. Hay.
In 1937, he helped to open the first public hospital in Melbourne.
During the Second World War Dr. Hicks was the only doctor in town because the other doctors were in military service for the war.
