Hyperspace Delivery Boy! is the first title released by video game production company Monkeystone Games, formed by id Software and Ion Storm founders John Romero, Tom Hall and Romero's then-wife Stevie Case. A puzzle/action game developed for the Pocket PC and released on December 23, 2001. The game was later ported to other platforms, including Linux and it saw a respectable amount of commercial success and paved the way for further titles from the producers.
It centers on a character in the title profession, delivering packages wherever in space he needs to go, battling all kinds of evil along the way. It consists mostly of puzzles, with some action elements.
Plot
Hyperspace Delivery Boy! follows the story of Guy Carrington, a courier in training. Guy is sent by Sergeant Filibuster on several dangerous missions in four different locations.
During the course of the game, Guy discovers a secret organization known as "THEM". This organization remains largely mysterious throughout the game. Details about this organization are occasionally revealed by Non-Player Characters (NPCs). These characters are generally hard to find and may be missed on first play.
Guy also has a love interest in Chief Engineer Dolly. In the end however, the love turns out to be mostly unrequited.
