Hunting the Clean Boot

Hunting the Clean Boot is a term that has been used in Britain to refer to the use of bloodhounds to follow natural human scent.

The 'clean boot' refers to the absence of either an artificial scent such as aniseed (used in drag hunting and more recently trail hunting, adopted by some established foxhound packs in England and Wales) or the scent of a live quarry.
