Holy Redeemer College
Holy Redeemer College
Holy Redeemer College is an Roman Catholic institution that provides housing for priests and religious brothers in the "Little Rome" section of the Brookland neighborhood of Washington, DC. It is run by Province of Baltimore of the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer, better known as the Redemptorists. Located at 3112 Seventh St., NE, it is near several other Catholic institutions, including The Catholic University of America (CUA), Trinity Washington University, Theological College, and the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB). CUA describes it as "a place of residence for preists and men religious who are pursuing studies."[1] It uses the name "college" not in the modern educational meaning but in the older meaning, which is often used in the Catholic Church, and that is related to the original Latin word collegium, meaning "collection".
In early 2015, plans were announced to add 41 townhouses to the property, to the north and south of the current building, which will remain.[2]
