Holly Marie Miller (born January 3, 1997), who goes by the stage name Hollyn, is an American Christian musician, who plays a Christian pop style of Christian hip hop and Christian electronic dance music with some Christian rock. Hollyn was a contestant on season 12 of American Idol, where she made it to the Hollywood rounds.[1] She has released one extended play, Hollyn in 2015, with Gotee Records.

Early and personal life

Hollyn was born, Holly Marie Miller,[2] on January 3, 1997, in Waverly, Ohio,[3] to Jamie Drew Miller and Tammy Lynn Miller (née, Bales).[1][4] She has a younger brother.[5]

Music career

She started her music recording career in 2013, with her appearance on season 12 of American Idol, where she made it to the Hollywood week rounds before she was eliminated.[6] Hollyn has appeared on tobyMac's, This Is Not a Test album, where she was featured on "Backseat Driver", where the song has charted on two Billboard magazine charts Christian Songs at No. 29,[7] and Christian Digital Songs at No. 16.[8] Her first extended play, Hollyn, was released on October 16, 2015, from Gotee Records.[9][10][11] The song, "Alone", charted on the Billboard magazine Christian Airplay chart at No. 30,[12] This extended play charted at No. 10 on the Billboard magazine Christian Albums chart.
