Hodges University (formerly International College) is a private, non-profit comprehensive degree-granting institution with campuses located in Naples, Florida and Fort Myers, Florida. It was founded in 1990. The Fort Myers campus opened in 1992.
The institution was renamed Hodges University in May 2007 to honor a $12 million donation from Earl and Thelma Hodges.[1]
Academics
Hodges University is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to offer associate's, bachelor's, and master's degrees. Degree offerings include business and public administration, accounting, criminal justice, health administration and allied health, interdisciplinary studies, applied psychology, information technology, paralegal studies, and other career-oriented disciplines.
Continuing Education programs at Hodges include instruction in English as a second language and lifelong learning classes for senior citizens at the Frances Pew Hayes Center for Lifelong Learning. Specifically designed programs and special courses are also available to businesses and professional firms seeking instruction or personalized seminars.[2]
Hodges operates learning sites at Florida SouthWestern State College in Punta Gorda, Florida Keys Community College, South Florida State College, and Pasco-Hernando State College.[3]
Since its 1990 inception, Hodges University has graduated over 7,700 students, an 11% graduation rate.[4]
Library
Hodges University's Terry P. McMahan Library operates branches on both the Naples and Fort Myers campuses. Library services are available to university faculty, staff, students, and alumni.[5]
Since 2003, the Terry P. McMahan Library has participated in the Federal Depository Library Program as a congressionally designated selective depository for U.S. Government documents (electronic documents only). Hodges is one of two federal depository libraries in Southwest Florida.[6]
