Highmoor Ibis Football Club is a football club, who are currently members of the Hellenic Football League Premier Division who play their home games at the Palmer Park Stadium in Reading.
History
The club were formed in 2001 as a merger of Highmoor F.C., who had enjoyed moderate success in the Reading Thames and Kennet leagues, and Ibis F.C. who had played for many years in the Reading Football League after leaving the former Chiltonian League at the end of the 1990–91 season.[1]
As a combined side, Highmoor Ibis F.C. did not finish below 4th place in the Reading Football League for most of the 2000s, and won promotion to the Hellenic League Division One East for the 2011–12 season. As part of gaining promotion the club had to leave its home of the Ibis club in Scours Lane, as their ground did not have floodlights or a suitable stand for spectators, so they moved to Palmer Park Stadium.[2][3] The club in its first season in the Hellenic League gained promotion to the Premier Division by finishing as runners up in Division One East. In the 2012-13 season the club made their debut in the FA Vase losing their first ever game in the competition 3-1 to Wokingham & Emmbrook.[4]
Ground
Highmoor Ibis play their games at Palmer Park Sport Stadium, Wokingham Road, Reading RG6 1LF.[5] The ground has a 780 capacity stand and floodlights.[6]
