High Water Recording Company
High Water Recording Company is a US record label founded in 1979 by David Evans and Memphis State University.[1]
The label first issued only singles, since 1983 also LPs of recordings by blues-, gospel- and jazz-artists of the Memphis area produced by Dr. Evans. Almost all of those recordings since 1997 were re-released on the Hightone label on CD.[2] Hightone in 2008 was bought out by Shout! Factory,[3] some of Evans' recordings are still available there.[4]
