Higashimatsuyama (東松山市 Higashimatsuyama-shi, literally "East Pine-Tree Mountain") is a city in Saitama Prefecture, Japan. The city was founded on July 1, 1954.
Demographics
As of 1 April 2011, the city has an estimated population of 89,647, with 35,720 households and a population density of 1,372.22 persons per km². The total area is 65.33 km2 (25.22 sq mi).
Transport
The city is served by Takasaka and Higashi-Matsuyama Stations on the privately operated Tobu Tojo Line, providing a direct rail service to Ikebukuro in Tokyo.

Culture
In 1967, the Maruki Gallery for the Hiroshima Panels, was established in Higashimatsuyama.
International relations
Twin towns and sister cities
Higashimatsuyama has been twinned with the city of Nijmegen in the Netherlands since 1996.[1]
