Hibbertia sericea, or Silky Guinea-flower, is a species of small perennial shrub, in the family Dilleniaceae, that is endemic to Australia. It has small yellow five-petalled flowers 2 centimetres (0.8 in) to 3 centimetres (1.2 in) across.[1]
The species was first formally described by botanist Robert Brown, his description published in Augustin Pyramus de Candolle's Regni Vegetabilis Systema Naturale in 1817. Brown named it Pleurandra sericea. It was subsequently placed in the genus Hibbertia by George Bentham.[2]
