Henrik Ahnberg, better known as Admiralbulldog, is a Swedish Dota 2 eSports player who currently plays for Alliance. Admiralbulldog has supposedly earned $422,848.75 from eSports tournament prize money.[1] He won The International 2013 Dota Championships with Alliance.

History

Admiralbulldog debuted with the mainly Swedish team No Tidehunter on November 9, 2013 against Team Empire.[2] Even though they beat Team Empire in a best of 3, Team Empire went on to win the TPL III league.[3]

After beating big names such as Evil Geniuses, Natus Vincere (who won The International 1 and were runner ups for the second), Fnatic, Team Liquid and winning 9 tournaments in less than 7 months, Alliance decide to pick up the roster of No Tidehunter which was fully Swedish on April 12, 2013.[4]

Immediately after getting sponsored, Alliance won 6 premier tournaments in a row including The International 3.[5] The last moments of the game were noted by the community as 'the most interesting,' because of Admiralbulldog's rat victory[6] and his teammate, S4, '1 million dollar dream coil'.[7]

After a disappointing 11-12 finish at The International 4, Alliance announces roster changes.[8] After another bad 8th place finish at XMG Captains Draft 2.0, Admiralbulldog went inactive in the competitive scene and started full-time streaming on Twitch.tv except for one tournament with Team Tinker.[9]

Admiralbulldog returned to playing on Alliance for I-league season 3, in which they got 5-6th place.[10]

In the WCA 2015 Europe Open Qualifiers, Alliance won 1st place and $8,000, the only gold medal since ASUS ROG DreamLeague season 1.[11] The team later went on to win the tournament.[12]

On January 17, 2016, Alliance won StarLadder i-League StarSeries.[13]

Playstyle

Ahnberg's playstyle tends to focus on game objectives, such as destroying towers and other enemy buildings. His hero pool is considered small because of his liking towards heroes such as Lone Druid and Nature's Prophet, two heroes that assist with Ahnberg's objective based playstyle. Alliance's victory at The International 3 was half attributed to Ahnberg because of his decision to attack Natus Vincere's base instead of defending his own.

Streamer Persona

In his Twitch.Tv livestream, both Ahnberg and his fanbase have created humorous nicknames for many gaming or stream related things. His non-subscribed viewers are referred to as 'Plebs'. He also refers to female gamers as 'grills', which is gaming jargon for girl. In his stream, he goes by the aliases of Bulldong, Dongerino, The Dongmeister, and El Donger. His subscribed viewers are referred to as being in the 'Kappa Club', a reference to both the titular underground club in the film 'Fight Club', and the popular Twitch emoticon. He has over 207,000 followers on Twitch and over 55,000 subscribers on Youtube.
