Helmut Pförtner (22 April 1913 — 28 February 1943) was a Hauptsturmführer (Captain) in the Waffen-SS during World War II who was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross; which was awarded to recognize extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership by Nazi Germany during World War II.

Hauptsturmführer Helmut Pförtner was awarded the Knight's Cross on the 18 January 1942, while in Command of the 6th Company, 9th SS Panzer Grenadier Regiment, 5th SS Panzer Division Wiking.[1]
