Switchfoot concert chronology

The Hello Hurricane Tour is a 2009-2010 concert tour by the alternative rock band Switchfoot in support of their seventh studio album, Hello Hurricane. The tour began in San Diego, California on November 8, 2009 and concluded in Avila Beach, California on October 29, 2010. Dates were first announced on switchfoot.com on September 23, 2009. [1]

Itinerary

The tour was first announced as a short national trek across the southern portion of the United States, beginning with a hometown show in El Cajon, California on November 8 and ending in Ventura, California on November 28. However, more dates continued to be announced due to the high demand for shows. The second leg of the tour hit the Eastern United States, beginning December 3 in Charlotte, North Carolina and concluding December 14, 2009.

This was followed by a North American at large tour, with dates primarily in the northernwestern United States and portions of Canada. Those dates ran throughout January 8 to 23.

After playing at Parachute Music Festival in New Zealand anda few shows in Japan, the band resumed their tour in February, continuing on until the end of the year.

Supporting acts

The first 2009 legs of the Hello Hurricane tour featured no opening bands, with Switchfoot playing the entire show each evening. These shows were dubbed "An Evening With Switchfoot." The early winter 2010 leg featured the Paper Tongues as a supporting act, and the final leg of the tour featured The Almost as the opening act. Various one-offs and opening bands also played in support of Switchfoot throughout the tour.

Setlist

For the Fall 2009 United States leg, Switchfoot announced via Myspace blog that they would be playing the entire Hello Hurricane tracklisting from beginning to end for the first part of the setlist. Afterwards, the band played a selection of their favorite songs from the band's past catalogue to round out the show.[2] This setlist remained throughout each of the first three legs of the tour. This Tour was depicted in Hello Hurricane Live.
