Heinz Behnke (1 October 1919 – 17 February 2002) was a highly decorated Oberleutnant of the Reserves in the Wehrmacht during World War II. He was also a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Heinz Behnke joined the Bundeswehr in 1956 and retired in 1979 as an Oberst im Generalstab.
