Hasan and Ibrahim Ignatov (Bulgarian: Хасан Игнатов и Ибрахим Игнатов , born 15 December 2003 in Shumen, Bulgaria), also known as Ignatov Brothers (Bulgarian: Братя Игнатови) are Bulgarian twin child pianists of Bulgarian and Turkish descent. Along with Krisia Todorova, they represented Bulgaria in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2014 in Malta with the song "Planetata na detsata".[1][2] Like Krisia Todorova, Ignatov Brothers also gained popularity throughout Bulgaria through their participation in Slavi's Showon bTV. At age 11 issued their first collection of own compositions.[3]

Biography

The twin brothers Hasan Ignatov and Ibrahim Ignatov were born on 15 December 2003 in Shumen, Bulgaria, to a family of musicians. Their father is Denis Ignatov of Bulgarian descent and their mother is Sebile Kyazimova of Turkish descent. They have two older twin sisters, Merlin Ignatova and Nermin Ignatova (born 1997).[4] At the age of five they both received their first musical guidance from their father, Denis Ignatov, and began studying piano professionally in September 2011 with music teacher Marinela Marinova and now with famous piano pedagogue Maria Gineva of Varna School of Music. The whole family is known for its participation in weddings and circumcision rituals like a group "Ikizler" (Group of twins).

Early life

Ignatov Brothers are both interested in classical music, and the works of famous European and international composers, and dream of becoming world-renowned pianists and conductors - and to bring their home town to the attention of Bulgarian and international music lovers.[5]

Career

Young pianists Hasan and Ibrahim Ignatovi have also received over 50 awards from different competitions for pianists from several domestic and overseas competitions - Bulgaria, Turkey, Macedonia, Austria and Russia. For the short period of two years and seven months musical career, the piano virtuosos twins Ignatov Brothers as individual and piano duo have won many prestigious national and international competitions such as the 9th International Competition "Franz Schubert",[6] 7th International piano Competition "Liszt-Bartok-Ligetti,[7][8]" 4th National Competition "Dimitar Nenov",[9] International Competition for German and Austrian music,[10] National Competition "Pancho Vladigerov",[11][12] 10th International Competition "Young Virtuosos",[13][14] International Piano Competition "VIVAPIANO" [15][16] 2014, 2nd International Competition for Young Pianists" Andrei Stoyanov", 24th National Competition for Singers and Instrumentalists" Svetoslav Obretenov",[17][18] 9th International Piano Competition "Pera Piyano" 2014 (Istanbul, Turkey),[19] International Competition Young Musicians "Ohrid Pearls" (Ohrid, Macedonia),[20][21] 12th International Rotary Music Competition (Moscow, Russia) [22] and many others. 8 years of age are among the most successful children of foundation "Dimitar Berbatov". 9 years of age participate in the International Music Festival "Varna Summer" 2013.[23] At the age of 10 participate in The Award Ceremony of "Successful Children of Bulgaria" of Foundation "Dimitar Berbatov" in the TV show "Slavi's Show" where are noticed and selected to participate in Junior "Eurovision" 2014 to present Bulgaria with Krisia Todorova. In the summer Hasan and Ibrahim took master class of prof. Maria Prinz(Austria),[24] later in September gave its first concert with Shumen Symphony Orchestra.[25] In the autumn of 2014, they had a concert together in Vienna, with the support of the Bulgarian Cultural Institute "Haus Wittgenstein"- and also participated in Concert of the Laureates.

Junior Eurovision Song Contest

On 25 July 2014, Slavi Trifonov announced on his show, that Bulgarian National Television had selected Krisia along with Hasan and Ibrahim Ignatovi to represent Bulgaria in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2014. They must perform song by Krisia in Bulgarian which the team of the Show successfully prepare two months later.[26] The song is called "Planet of the Children" The music was recorded by Pleven Philharmony Orchestra [27] and Evgeni Dimitrov and the text was written by Krisia and Ivaylo Valchev.[28][29]

On 9 November 2014 a team of ten people, father of twins, mother, vocal pedagogue Svilena Decheva, reporters from two TV stations and later Evgeni Dimitrov go to Valletta.[30] Krisia, Hasan and Ibrahim present themselves number 2 and won second place with 147 points.[31]

After Eurovision

On the evening of their return from "Eurovision young talents are special guests of "The Voice of Bulgaria", where they played the song "Moya strana, moya Balgaria" (My Country, My Bulgaria) .[32]

After their successful participation, second place, Krisia Todorova and Ignatov Brothers were invited by the President of Bulgaria Rosen Plevneliev to participate in the concert "Bulgarian Christmas",[33] which is traditionally performed in the National Theatre at Christmas time.[34]

They visited the National Assembly, where deputies in the hall gave them a standing ovation and Parliament Speaker Tsetska Tsacheva congratulated them for their huge "Eurovision" success.[35] The twins Hasan and Ibrahim Ignatovi were welcomed as heroes in their hometown of Shumen by the Mayor , Secondary school and others.[36] At a special ceremony piano virtuosos with their musical pedagogue Marinella Marinova receive "Golden Badge" of Shumen.[37]

Small pianists ever performed concerts in Moscow, New York, Vienna, in Sofia,[38] Dobrich,[39][40] Dimitrovgrad.,[41] Pleven,[42] Варна,[43] Plovdiv,[44] Sliven,[45] Pazardzhik , Razgrad. Krisia, Hasan and Ibrahim are set to "Event of 2014." BNT.[46] Follow and the First places and "Grand Prix" for piano duo in XIth National Children's and Youth Competition for musical art "Orpheus gift." After previously sending recordings of virtuoso performances of Ibrahim and Hassan, the International contest "American Protègè" (New York) distinguishes two first prizes as a solo artist and second prize for piano duo among 640 participants from around the world.[47] Opening ceremony of International children and youth choir festivals "Dobri Voynikov".[48] Follow first prizes of IVth International Piano Competition "VIVAPIANO 2015". Received the award for "Dignified Bulgarian" the newspaper "24 hours",[49] Honorary Diploma for talented creative development of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Bulgaria on the occasion of May 24, Day of Bulgarian Education and Culture, and Slavonic Literature,[50] Award of the "BG Radio" for best song clip.[51] After stepping on American soil Hassan and Ibrahim performed many concerts in Bulgarian schools in New York "Hristo Botev" and "Gergana", Consulate General of the Republic of Bulgaria in New York. Among a series of concerts in the city that do not "sleep",[52][53] is their participation in the concert of the winners of the International Competition "American Protege", which took place in the legendary hall "Carnegie Hall".[54] 25. 09. 2015 - Hassan and Ibrahim participated in the mega concert of the showman Slavi Trifonov and Ku-Ku Band at the National Stadium "Vasil Levski" in Sofia, where the audience surpassed 70,000 people [55]

On the 13th edition of Junior Eurovision Hassan and Ibrahim, along with Krisia, attended in the Opening ceremony of the competition as winners, and at the night of the final, performed the song "Planet of the Children" in a new version with the Children's Choir of BNR.[56]
