Hasan Azizul Huq is a Bangladeshi short story writer.[1] He won Bangla Academy Award in 1970.

Early life and career

Huq was born on February 2, 1939, in Jabgraam in Burdwan district of West Bengal. Later his parents moved to Fultala, near the city of Khulna, Bangladesh. He served as a faculty in the Department of Philosophy of the Rajshahi University.

Huq is well known for his experimentations with the language and introducing modern idioms in his writings. His use of language and symbolism has earned him critical acclaim. His stories explore the psychological depths of human beings as well as portray the lives of the peasants of Bangladesh.
