Hap and Leonard is an upcoming American television drama series based on the characters Hap and Leonard, created by novelist Joe R. Lansdale[1] and adapted by his series of novels of the same name.[2] The series was written and developed by Nick Damici and Jim Mickle, who had previously adapted Lansdale's Cold in July and will be directed by Mickle.[1] Six episodes will premiere on the American cable network SundanceTV on March 2, 2016.[1][3]

- James Purefoy[4] as Hap Collins, a white working class laborer who spent time in federal prison as a young man for refusing to be drafted into the military and serve in the Vietnam War[5]
- Michael K. Williams[4] as Leonard Pine, a gay black Vietnam vet with serious anger issues[5]
- Christina Hendricks[6] as Trudy, Hap's ex-wife
- Bill Sage[7] as Howard
- Neil Sandilands as Paco
- Pollyanna McIntosh[8] as Angel

Production
Filming of the show took place in Baton Rouge, Louisiana,[10] although the series is set in 1980s in the fictional town of LaBorde in East Texas.[11] One of the locations used was an old Woman's Hospital in Baton Rouge[12] as well as the Celtic Media Centre.[13]
Tie-in
A collection called Hap and Leonard made up of previously published short stories (Hyenas, Veil’s Visit, Dead Aim) by Joe Lansdale as well as new content will be published by Tachyon Publications in March 2016 as a tie-in to the TV series.[14]
