Halifax by-election, 1871

The Halifax by-election of 1871 was fought on 13 March 1871. The byelection was fought due to the of the incumbent MP of the Liberal Party, James Stansfeld, becoming President of the Poor Law Board. It was retained by James Stansfeld who was unopposed.
