HMCS Transcona (J271)

HMCS Transcona was a Bangor-class minesweeper built for the Royal Canadian Navy in 1940- 41.[1] She was launched on April 26, 1941, and after a short repair for engine defects remained part of Halifax force for the remainder of the war. After the war, she was redispatched to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police under the name French. She served until 1961 before being sold and scrapped later that year.[2]
