Héctor Ortiz Montañez (born October 14, 1969) is an Puerto Rican professional baseball catcher and coach. He played in Major League Baseball from 1998 to 2002 for the Kansas City Royals and the Texas Rangers in the American League. He was born in Río Piedras, Puerto Rico.

He batted and threw right-handed. He appeared in a total of 93 games in four years, with a career batting average of .288.

After his playing career, Ortiz served in the Rangers' organization as a minor league coach, manager, and catching instructor. He will serve as the Rangers' first base coach in 2015.[1]
