Greece in the Eurovision Song Contest 1974
In 1974 Greece made its debut entry in the Eurovision Song Contest. Marinella, who was already famous in Greece, sang "Krasi, Thalassa Kai T' Agori Mou" (in Greek "λίγο κρασί, λίγο θάλασσα και το αγόρι μου", meaning "a little wine, a little sea and my boyfriend"). The song was presented fifth out of the seventeen entries of the night and followed Norway's Anne-Karine Strøm with "The First Day of Love" while preceding Israel's Poogy with "Natati La Khayay". At the close of voting, the performance had received seven points, placing it eleventh in the field of 17.
