Grafton Railway Station is a station on the Western Line of Auckland's commuter rail network. Costing $3 million to construct, it was officially opened on 9 April 2010, and the first trains stopped at the station on 11 April.[2]
Grafton Station replaced the original Boston Road station and serves the Central Connector and sites like the Auckland Hospital and the future development on the Lion Brewery site,.[3][4]
The station has four entrances, as its length extends under both Khyber Pass Road and Park Road, making stairs to all four sides of the roads possible. There is also a lift to Park Road, which also directly links the station to the Central Connector bus route on that road.[2] One of the entrances is beside St Peter's College and students have direct access without having to crossing Khyber Pass Road.[5] Up to a third of the St Peter's College's enrolment (i.e. 400 students) use the Grafton station in the morning and in the afternoon on school days.[6]
