Govindapuram, Vizianagaram

Govindapuram is a village in Pusapatirega mandal of Vizianagaram district in Andhra Pradesh, India. at distance of 30 km from Vizianagaram town. The magnificent temple here is renowned for its sculptural beauty and is based on the essence of BhagawatGita. Gyana Ratham with Lord Krishan on the chariot is an impressive image which enthralls the visitors. It is very near to chintapalli of srikakulam district.

90 feet length, 45 feet width,63 feet height,of this mandir attracts many people from Andhra, Orissa, Tamil Nadu, Kerala. 4 horses chariot is very attractive,and during Karteeka month Picnics are very common. The Kumili which was the capital of then ruled Vizianagara Kingdom and Kota is still a good monument to see. The light house at Chintapalli still in good condition and can emit light up to 20 km. Chodeswara Alayam is another one with good architectural building of 200 years ago. With in this GitaGovindan there ara many other temples like Suryanarayana, Satyanrayan, Dattatreya, Venkateswaraswami, Anjaneya, Ganapathi, SitaRama Alayam, RadhaRukmini Alayam, Andalamma Alayam, Laxminarasimha, Kalika Alayam are present and all are built day by day. It is a good picnic spot.
