Gordon West Public School is a primary school located in Pymble, New South Wales, Australia. Established in 1951, the school grounds were once an orchard.
The student population was boosted by post World War 2 housing construction throughout the 1950s, Student populations were again boosted in the early 1990s after the closure of the nearby Gordon Public School, which saw the majority of their students transfer into Gordon West Public School.
History
- 1951 - Gordon West Public School opens.[1]
- 1956 - 342 students.[1]
- 1957 - The main four roomed building is completed in response to growing population of the local area.[1]
- 1960 - West Pymble Public School opens, resulting in over 100 students transferring out of Gordon West Public School.[1]
- 1990 - Gordon Public School closes, resulting in a significant number of students transferring to Gordon West Public School.[1]
