The troops of Gwalior attacked under the leadership of Major Burtlon. There is a statue of Raja Amani Singh near Iglas.Raja Amani Singh was the Brave king of Lagsama region. He was from Kshatriya community Thakurela Jat. He also defeated the Chauhan rajputs in a war who came to capture this region. He was from the village Gahlau of Lagsama region. Gonda and its nearby region is densely populated with the Thakurela jats who are the branch of Kakran clan. The whole region is dominated by these jats. They were the rulers of this region from 1046 AD. They migrated from Mandore where they had ruled for many centuries before the Rathore rajputs. In the Gonda region they expelled the Janghara rajputs and established their empire. However other sub castes of Jat community also dwell in this area.
